IN FOCUS | Abandoned Rolling Wheels Raceway Park

The site of the fastest ever recorded World of Outlaws Sprintcar lap, Rolling Wheels Raceway Park is a 5/8th mile dirt track located in Elbridge, New York. The track last hosted the World of Outlaws in 2015, but in the following years dialed back it’s schedule significantly. The track hosted races in 2017 and planned to run as shows on a weekly basis in 2018. Sadly, these plans did not come to fruition and the track has fallen into abandonment and disrepair. Citing the saturation of excellent facilities in New York State along with the costs inherent with “large track” racing, the tracks promoters decided that it was no longer viable to host racing at the venue. ListonMedia was lucky enough to stumble upon the derelict venue on the venue unlocked and easily accessible and took the opportunity to capture some footage of a track that will have it’s name stamped in the record books for years to come. Surely, if you listen closely you can still hear the sounds of 900+hp sprintcars roaring around the track at over 145mph.
